Policies and Liability Waivers
Please read and sign these Policies and Liability Waivers (“Policies”, “Waivers”) carefully before purchasing any product on the https://www.portlandtangofest.com websiterms andte (the “Service”) operated by Portland Tango Association (“us”, “we”, or “our”).
PORTLAND TANGO FESTIVAL CANCELLATION POLICY
In the event of a cancellation due to Covid, natural disaster, government mandate, the Marriott Hotel, or cancellation by the organizers, the Portland TangoFest will refund 90% of the pass fee to all registered dancers.
A full refund minus 10% will be available to anyone who cancels through July 31, 2023, or a 50% refund from August 1, 2023 through August 21, 2023. No refunds are available after August 22, 2023, no exceptions. Transferring passes is permitted. Please get confirmation by contacting us here.
LIABILITY WAIVER
By registering, the registrant understands that participation in the Portland TangoFest’s activities include movements that are considered sport. The registrant declares to not have any physical condition that may aggravate the risk of injury. Further the registrant understands this dance approach and technique is mostly physical contact/embrace and requires that bodies touch. The registrant is voluntarily participating in this event with the full knowledge and understanding of the above. The registrant releases the Portland Tango Association Inc. , it’s employees, agents, performers, teachers, volunteers and guests from all claims, demands, fines, liabilities, costs and damages which might arise from participation in this event.
The registrant is aware that the event will be held in person and, on behalf of themselves, their heirs, successors, assigns, and personal representatives, they agree to hold the members of the Portland TangoFest and staff and Marriott Hotel (together referred to as “Organizer”) harmless and agree to discharge, release, or waive any claim of liability or damages for any injury, physical or emotional, that they might suffer as a result of their participating in the Portland TangoFest. This waiver specifically includes but is not limited to the remote possibility that the registrant may contract COVID-19 or any variant of COVID-19 while participating at the event, or other injuries related to this event whether specifically dance related or otherwise. Should any claim be brought by the registrant against the Organizer for liability and/or damages resulting from the registrant participation in this event, they will be responsible for paying Organizer’s reasonable attorney fees and cost for having to defend against such action.
PORTLAND TANGOFEST PHOTOS AND VIDEOS
Release Agreement for Use of Facebook and other online photo and video publishing: In registering to the Portland TangoFest, you hereby give your permission to the Portland TangoFest and to the Portland Tango association Inc. to use any photos or videos taken of you during the Portland TangoFest. The photos and videos may be posted on the internet, any of our web sites and/or on www.youtube.com, facebook etc… Your photos and videos will not be sold or used in conjunction with any inflammatory content! If for any reason you do not want your photos or videos used, simply submit a request in writing, complete with a current photo of the way you looked at the time of the festival, in advance of postings so we can remove you from any photos/videos that may be pending a post – note once a digital image or video file has been posted retrieval of all copies may be impossible.
